In this exercise we begin to explore boundaries. This steps into non-dual territory.
- Close your eyes
- Take your attention to somewhere central in your body, e.g. your heart
- Slowly move your attention outwards, checking with each move outwards, “is the sensation here me?”
- At what point to we stop noticing “me” and start noticing “not me?”
- Is there a clear sharp boundary between “me” and “not me” that we can find?
- If we find a clear boundary, check, where is this boundary?
- Is it a physical distinction, or is it a thought about the bodily sensation?
- Again, if we find it, keep looking, what makes this distinction?
