Sometimes, even if we have worked through reactivity, things can “come up”, that haven’t yet been processed. They are aspects of our exprerience that have not yet had the light of inquiry shone on them.
They are likely old, and can be huge, and can be shocking.
This exercise can help us find a way to work with these experiences.
- Bring to mind the scenario
- Bring to mind any people, any emotions, any history
- Let it all sit in our experience, without judgment, without resistance, without reaction, without thought even
- Now, with it in experience, bring to mind that this all exists in space.
- Get a sense of the space it, and we, exist in. Take your attention outwards. To the extremeties of space - can you find the end of space in experience?
- Now, bring your attention to the qualities of that space - in it, everything is okay, it is all okay, it is all love, it is all loving, peace.
- Now take your attention back to the original experience - allow it to sit in this broad, even infinite space.
- Allow the qualities of this space to suffuse the issue - let the okayness, the love, seep into it, reassuring it.
- All is okay. There’s nothing to do. It doesn’t need to do anything.
- Now sit with that space, and with the experience together, for a little while.
