What is Odoki?
The Odoki Method is an eight week course that teaches people tools to find a sense of deep wellbeing, independent of life circumstances.
What happens once you’ve signed up?
Once you have signed up, we will either arrange a (free) chat with you to further discuss how the Method might benefit you, or, if you indicated you are ready to get started, we will assign you a guide as soon as we have one available. You will be notified by email of the next step.
What is an Odoki session?
Odoki Method sessions are typically 30 minutes long, and are one to one sessions with your guide.
What happens in a session?
After introductions, your guide will share some simple exercises that are designed to help us better understand the organisation of our inner world. They each aim to show you something that may be surprising to you.
What kind of support can I expect?
As well as guiding you through the exercises, your guide will be available to support you should the exercise prove to be surprising or challenging.
How much must I share?
Unlike much conventional therapy, the Odoki Method does not require you disclose private matters. An exercise may invite you to identify a painful or private scenario, but so long as you can bring the scenario to mind, the guide does not require details of the scenario for the exercise to work.
Stages of the Method
The Method has five stages. Not everyone will want to complete all five stages. They are regulation, sensing, identity, reactivity and completion.
- Stage 1: Regulation - Here we learn how to handle any hyperarousal, be it panic attacks, depression, trauma, etc, aiming to bring us back to a regulated state.
- Stage 2: Sensing - Here we learn about the “felt sense”, and how it can give us access to another, more intuitive part of the brain. We also explore how this can, in itself help reduce (or eliminate) many of life’s common struggles.
- Stage 3: Identity - Here we explore how we form our sense of identity, and begin deeper inquiry that can lead to meaningful shifts in our experience of life.
- Stage 4: Reactivity - We all react to life, whether pulling things towards us or pushing things away. Here, we explore how this reactivity is optional, leading to a deep quietening of life.
- Stage 5: Integration - In the integration stage, we dig deeper into how we construct our sense of self, including in relation to space and time.
